The winemaker has total control over rose wine color and removes the grape skins when the perfect color they desire is attained. Where the winemaker desires to impart more tannin to rose wine, some juice is extracted at an early stage while the remaining juice in the vats is intensified and becomes more concentrated. The early removed juice can be fermented separately to produce rose wine.
